Soni to be made brand ambassador of 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao'

Varanasi: Aptly recognising the feat of creating a world record in the Kathak dance, the Government of India has decided to make Soni Chaurasia the Brand Ambassador of Prime Minister's agenda 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' in Varanasi.

A formal announcement in this regard will be made by Human Resource Development minister Smriti Irani during her day-long visit to PM's constituency on Thursday. Soni has received many accolades after setting the Guinness record of dancing continuously for 126 hours on Saturday last but this hounour has overwhelmed her and her family.

Soni overwhelmed:

• Soni Chaurasia is completely floored when she received a call from Delhi.
• “I am proud to be a part of 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign,'' she exclaimed.
• She said it was a happy thought for her that she will now be able to do something for the girls.
• Her coach Rajesh Dogra said “we have been invited for the occasion by the BJP, it is a great thing for her, being a part of the campaign.”

She left everyone behind:

• A senior person from BJP told the media, “We were searching for a fresh face for the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, since long time.
• Soni's recent success made her the Brand Ambassador ahead of legendary Girija Devi, Vimla Poddar, Malini Awasthi and other big names.

Smiriti Irani to honour Soni:

• The Kashi area convenor for 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao', Rachna Agarval told the mediapersons, that the HRD minister Ms Irani will honour Soni Chaurasia at a function on Thursday.
• She will make announcement at this function.
• Smiriti Irani is also going to visit Nagepur ,selected as the Adarsh Gram.
