Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Shivpal Yadav, on Monday, said that Samajwadi Party has always supported the terrorists and especially people who do anti-national activities. Though the minister immediately realised the blunder he made in front of the media and soon served a clarification.

It was a weird ‘slip of tongue’ from the minister as he later said Samajwadi Party had always condemned anti-nationalists and people involved in terrorist activities. Shivpal was replying to a media query over the controversial Islamic preacher Dr. Zakir Naik.

What else Shivpal said?

  • Shivpal was speaking during the plantation programme in Etawah
  • He said that the government has the target of planting 5 crore saplings across state
  • This would increase the greener belt in Uttar Pradesh
  • It would benefit the environment to turn pollution-free
