Shivpal Yadav replaces Akhilesh as UP Samajwadi Party President
Lucknow: In a significant move, Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Shivpal Yadav on Tuesday has been appointed as the Samajwadi Party State President. The decision comes a day after the Minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati and party leader Raj Kishore was sacked by the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav.
Sources say that the decision was taken by the Samajwadi Party President Mulayam Singh Yadav after having an hour long meeting with the party leader Amar Singh at former's residence in Delhi.
It may be mentioned that Gayatri shares a close bond with Mulayam who admitted late on Monday that he had no prior information about the CM's decision of sacking Prajapati.
Shivpal has replaced Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on the prominent post ahead of the assembly elections.
