Rake of Shatabdi Express splits into two, railway traffic disrupted

Lucknow: In a sensational accident the rake of New Delhi-Lucknow Shatabdi Express split into two, near Khurja Railway station on North Central Railway on Wednesday morning.

Apparently it happened due to breakage in the coupling joining two coaches.

The senior officers have reached the spot and the probe has been launched.

According to eyewitnesses, a major railway mishap was averted.

More details are awaited.

The accident has also adversely affected the railway traffic with many trains either cancelled or diverted until the path gets cleared. Rescue teams have been sent to the spot.
