Rio de Janeiro: An unidentified man on Tuesday night attacked the bus carrying journalists en-route to Olympics Park at Rio Olympics. The major loss was prevented but a scribe from Turkey sustained minor injury when the bullet broke the glass pan of the bus.

The injured journalist was rushed to the nearest hospital and his condition was stated to be stable, the reports in international media said.

According to eyewitnesses, an armed criminal fired two rounds of bullet on the bus while it was going to main Olympics park. It may be mentioned that a loud explosion was heard near the finishing line of cycling track few days ago.

No detailed statement of Brazilian police was immediately available but the incident had no connection with any terror attack, the preliminary reports suggested.
