SC likely to pronounce verdict on Guest House incident today

Lucknow: An embattled Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and Shivpal Singh Yadav may face some more problems as Supreme Court is likely to give its verdict on infamous ‘guest house incident’ on Thursday.

Mayawati had registered a case against the SP leaders and workers who attacked her in 1995.

The Guest House incident:

• On June 2, 1995, BSP MLAs were beaten and dragged by the SP leaders and workers in a Lucknow guesthouse.
• Mayawati was also attacked by them.
• Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Brahm Dutt Dwivedi had saved Mayawati by facing SP leaders single-handedly.

The incident had redefined the political scenario of Uttar Pradesh in 1995. The decision of the incident could bring some political upheaval as political experts suggest.
