Sambhal is the new emerging nursery of terrorism: Delhi police

New Delhi: The Delhi police has claimed that Sambal of Western Uttar Pradesh is becoming the den for terrorists.

The police have even claimed that several handlers of Indian wing of terror outfit Al-Qaeda and others reside here. It may be mentioned that earlier Sarjarpur in Azamgarh district was knows as the nursery of terrorism.

Claims:

  • The Delhi police have submitted a chargesheet in court where they have claimed so.
  • The police have chargesheeted 17 persons.
  • They have been chargesheeted for making Sambhal a base camp of Al-Qaeda.
  • Twelve of 17 chargsheeted accused are absconding.
  • Maulana Asim Umar, a resident of Sambhal but now in Pakistan.
  • Mohammad Asif and Jafar Masood are under the clutches of police.
  • Saeed Akhtar, Mohammad Sarjeel Akhtar and Usman also hail from Sambhal.
  • Mohammad Asif have confessed to the crime and several youths of Sambhal have fled to Pakistan to get the terror training.
