SP Convention: Shivpal Yadav likely to be removed as state chief

Lucknow: The banners and posters installed at the special Samajwadi Party convention here on Sunday had picture and name of Shivpal Yadav missing, giving rise to the speculations that he is going to be sidelined in the party.

The speculations are that he is likely to be removed as the Uttar Pradesh chief of the party at the SP convention held at Janeshwar Mishra Park.

It is also being said that Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav might be awarded additional responsibilities at the convention.

Amar Singh, who has been blamed by Akhilesh many times for the internal feud within the party, is also likely to face action as the Samajwadi Party workers are very miffed with his recent statements and acts.

The SP convention has been joined by several top leaders of the party and is being monitored by a drone camera. Proper security arrangements have been made by the concerned authorities.

Akhilesh overpowered father Mulayam Singh:

Earlier on Saturday, Akhilesh overpowered father and party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav as after being sacked from the party, he called his MLAs for a meeting at his residence at 5-Kalidas Marg. More than 198 MLAs and 34 MLCs reached to the CM's official residence for the meeting.

But only 73 candidates and 11 legislators joined the meeting called by Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Azam Khan helped in truce between father-son:

Looking at the situation, Azam Khan, who shares a close bond with the Samajwadi family, took Akhilesh Yadav to Mulayam Singh's residence. After the 45-minute long meeting between the two, the six-year suspension of Akhilesh Yadav and Ramgopal Yadav was revoked. During the meeting, Shivpal Yadav also reached Mulayam Singh's residence.
