New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi, who had to cut short her Varanasi road show due to sudden illness, expressed her disappointment on being unable to offer prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple on Tuesday. She was flown to Delhi in an air-ambulance, where daughter Priyanka Vadra received her on the airport.

Priyanka said that Sonia Gandhi had been keeping unwell for past three days but she was keen to visit the temple town for her roadshow.

Sonia Gandhi was taken to Army Research And Referral Hospital for a check-up. She soon got a discharge from the hospital after doctors said that her health is stable and there is nothing to worry.

Sonia Gandhi complaint of dehydration and high blood pressure after which her roadshow was called off midway.

Before taking ill, the 69-year-old party president stood in an SUV for several hours to greet the large score of people gathered at the road show while her cavalcade was moving slowly on the city roads.
