Cash and flats to be given to Bulandshahr gangrape victims:CM
Lucknow: In an apparent bid to cover up the police laxity, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday announced Rs 3 lakh compensation and a flat each to both the Bulandshahr gang-rape victims.
Ghaziabad DM has issued a formal letter announcing Akhilesh Yadav’s compensation.
UP CM’s announcement came hours after he lashed out at the opposition for politicizing the gang-rape incident. While talking to reporters after the oath taking ceremony of new Lokayukta of the state, Akhilesh said that he is ready for a CBI enquiry if the victim family members want it.
It may be mentioned that the three accused including the head perpetrator are still at large.
Mother and daughter were raped by a gang of six men on NH 91 highway in Bulandshahr after being dragged away from their car on July 29.
Police had arrested three accused who were sent to 14-day judicial custody.
