Lucknow: In an apparent bid to cover up the police laxity, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday announced Rs 3 lakh compensation and a flat each to both the Bulandshahr gang-rape victims.

Ghaziabad DM has issued a formal letter announcing Akhilesh Yadav’s compensation.

UP CM’s announcement came hours after he lashed out at the opposition for politicizing the gang-rape incident. While talking to reporters after the oath taking ceremony of new Lokayukta of the state, Akhilesh said that he is ready for a CBI enquiry if the victim family members want it.
