Rajnath Singh delivers blunt message to defiant Pakistan

New Delhi: Delivering a strong message to defiant Pakistan, Home Minister Rajnath Singh called for strong action against nations which actively take part in supporting and shielding terrorists. He was addressing the 7th SAARC Interiors Ministers Conference on Thursday.

What Rajnath Singh said?

• Condemnation of terrorism not enough; strong action should be taken for its eradication
• Action also should be taken against individuals, organisations and nations supporting terrorism
• There are no good terrorists or bad terrorists
• Terrorism must not be glorified
• One country’s terrorist (Burhan Wani) cannot be martyr for other
• In no circumstances, terrorists should be eulogised as martyrs

Indian media prohibited during the conference:

• Media men were not allowed to capture the SAARC conference
• They were kept at bay by Pakistani officials
• A senior Indian official and his Pakistani counterpart entered into a verbal spat for restricting media’s work

Rajnath Singh skips lunch

• Rajnath Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan barely shook hands when they came face-to-face
• It was not even a formal handshake
• Singh skipped lunch hosted by Nisar Khan
