Gatimaan express flagged off by Railway minister Prabhu
Agra/New Delhi: The Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off India’s first fastest train Gatimaan Express from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway station in New Delhi, on Tuesday.
The semi-high speed train will be operated between Hazrat Nizamuddin and Agra Cantt stations and it will take 100 minutes to cover the distance of 200 kms.
Quick facts:
• The speed of train is 160 km per hours.
• It is decked up with 12 coaches and a free Wi-Fi facility.
• The Gatimaan Express has an engine of 54,000 hp.
Timings:
• The train will run six days in a week except for Friday.
• The train (12049) will start its journey from Delhi at 0810 hours and will reach Agra at 0950 hours.
• While from Agra, the train (12050) will departure at 1750 hours and will reach the destination at 1930 hours.

The fare:
• The fare for Gatimaan Express will be Rs 690.
• The fare for the executive class will be Rs 1365.
• The fare is about 25 per cent more than that of Shatabdi express.
The trial:
• The last trial of Gatimaan Express was done on March 22 last.
• The train took 110 minutes to cover the distance.
• Two toddlers were knocked down by the train in the last trial.
• It even developed some technical snag and 40 minutes were taken to solve the problem.
