Lucknow: Rahul Gandhi's interaction with party workers here on Friday was out of the box for more reasons than one. First, it was the only time in the country when a leader answered questions posed by the workers directly. The style may be adopted by some other parties in months to come.

The style, most suited to the youth, more or less resembles the style in which American presidential probables answer questions. The difference, however,is that they answer questions posed by people in general and in this case the questions were posed by party workers.

The direct questio-answer session is something new in this country. The experiment may be tried soon in other places by the party which may attract more people for the reason of its uniqueness.

Some see in the change glimpses of Prashant Kishore, the Congress strategist who has worked wonders in Bihar and Gurajat previously, The stage was specially prepared for the occasion. Decor had left nothing to be desired. The dress Rahul wore was suited to the occasion.

What appealed to most of the workers is Gandhi's new style. He walked from one end of the stage to another , answering questions over a hand -held mike. He was completely at ease answering questions though some of the answers lacked maturity.

Marking the change, one worker commented "Gandhi looked like a new avatar today". He might well have done some rehearsal before coming over here, he added. He too saw in it Kishore's hand.

Kishore's background and his stay in the USA may have something to do with it. He has worked in that country for three years after doing his post-graduation from the Tata Institute of Social Science.

Questions were mainly asked about the new leadership change in the state. He gave logic for why Sheila Dixit was chosen. Experience was the reason, he said. However, many did not look satisfied. The rest of the questions were related to Prime minister Modi and party rivals, the SP and the BSP. He believed that the party will succeed if party men work sincerely and unitedly.
