First time: Rahul walks the talk with party workers in Lucknow
Lucknow: Sounding election bugle ahead of Vidhan Sabha polls in Uttar Pradesh, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Friday accused the Central government of helping the rich. The Congress on the other hand had always focused on the poorest.
None of the party has focused on the development of Uttar Pradesh and now the Congress is very much determined to take this state to new heights, Rahul added.
- Gandhi was answering questions of party workers at Rama Bai Ambedkar park in Lucknow.
- The party will not tolerate any kind of indiscipline in the party and will take stern action if anyone is found guilty of it.
- Rahul is accompanied by UP Congress in-charge Gulam Nabi Azad, CM face Sheila Dikshit and other senior leaders.
- The party will promote only those leaders who work on the ground level. The literacy rate increased to 86.21% while Sheilaji was in administrating Delhi.
- She is confident over the work she has done and surely supersedes over her competitor’s candidatures and achievements.
- UP needs a facelift which can be given only by Congress.
- Congress brought a Super-CM to Delhi. Now it’s the turn of Uttar Pradesh.
- Enrollment of girls in schools was higher than the boys. Equality for all was Sheilaji’s motto.
- Sheila Dikshit has been the face of development and progress of Delhi since 1998. It is the turn of Uttar Pradesh now.
- It is Congress’s efforts which has put Delhi on a global map. Lets join hands together for Uttar Pradesh too.
"The party has made Shiela Dikshit as the face of 2017 Vidhan Sabha election considering the development work done by her Delhi," Rahul replied to a query of party worker Praveen. Adding, 'party gives preference to youth but experience is also equally important for contesting the elections'.
On an optimistic tone Gandhi said, Congress will definitely form its government in the state once all the party-men identify their prowess as the ideology of party was in the veins of every party men.
The interaction of Rahul Gandhi with the party workers is also being seen as the 'show of strength' in the view of coming Vidhan Sabha elections in the state.
The party will promote only those leaders who work on ground level.
Rahul Gandhi will be launching the Congress' campaign in Lucknow today.
