Raebareli-Amethi are like picnic spots for Priyanka Gandhi: Katiyar

Raebareli/Amethi: The firebrand Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vinay Katiyar on Friday took a dig at Priyanka Gandhi Vadra saying that Raebareli and Amethi are no less than picnic spots for her.

“It is only election season when she visits these places and vanishes when the elections are over," he said while addressing election meetings here.

His statement came soon after Priyanka Gandhi accompanied Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi to campaign in Raebareli. It is to be mentioned that Priyanka campaigns only in Raebareli and Amethi. the respective parliamentary constituencies of her mother Sonia Gandhi and brother Rahul Gandhi.

Earlier, Priyanka launched the campaign on Friday making Prime Minister Narendra Modi her target straightaway.

Reacting on her rhetoric, Katriyar said, "Brother-sister duo could not salvage the sinking ship of Congress in the Lok Sabha elections and same will happen to Congress-Samajwadi Party alliance this time."

It may be recalled that Vinay Katiyar was indulged in some sexist comments on Priyanka.

Raebareli is scheduled to go for polls in fourth phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections on February 23, while Amethi will observe polling in fifth phase on February 27.
