Alirajpur (Madhy Pradesh): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday urged the youths and citizens of violence gripped Jammu and Kashmir to take the path of development as the nation would stand by them.

The Prime Minister while addressing a rally in Alirajpur of Madhya Pradesh said, “Instead of holding laptops, bats or books the youths have taken stones in their hands and one can easily imagine what their future will be.”

It was the first time that Modi made a statement on violence hit Kashmir after the encounter killing of terrorist Burhan Wani in the last month.

“The youth of Kashmir wants peace and they want to earn more money through tourism as we all know Kashmir—the heaven on earth, has a great potential for it,” Modi added.

The Prime Minister was there to launch the national campaign ‘Yaad Karo Kurbani’, from the land of birth of freedom fighter Chandrashekar Azad.

“Atal ji adopted the path of humanity, democracy and Kashmiriyat. The state of Jammu and Kashmir has the same strengths and freedom that any other Indian state enjoys,” Modi maintained.

It may be mentioned that over 58 were killed and 2,000 were injured in the clashes in Kashmir.

The Prime Minister also thanked the Congress and other opposition parties for condemning terrorism and separatists.
