Prime Minister mourns the death of people due to cloudburst

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi mourned the death of people due to torrential rains and landslides in Uttarakhand and offered his condolences.

"My prayers are with those injured. I hope normalcy returns to the rain-affected areas at the earliest," Modi said in a tweet.

As many as 30 people were killed in torrential rains and landslides hit Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh and Chamoli districts on Friday.

Centre has rushed rescue teams of National Disaster Response Force to Uttarakhand and assured the hill state of all necessary help.
