Lucknow: Newly elected Samajwadi Party member of the Rajya Sabha, Amar Singh, continues to be a bone of contention between Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and his father and national president of the party, Mulayam Singh Yadav, despite latter’s avowed closeness to him.

An ugly poster seen on Wednesday near chief minister’s house portraying Amar as a dog and calling him a BJP agent makes it bare that chief minister and his supporters have not paid any heed to Mulayam’s public declaration that Amar is like his brother to him and that he is deeply indebted to him because of certain help.

Read with chief minister’s statement to a news channel, the mood within his camp becomes more clear. He is reported to have said he will not live in peace till Amar is removed from the party and stops hobnobbing with some members of his family . The statement was made on Tuesday, a day before the poster appeared in the city.To the channel he is also reported to have said "Amar has developed expertise to break a family and misusing his closeness to my father. He has brainwashed him and some other family members".

Clearly, the two are on different wavelengths as far as Amar Singh is concerned. While Mulayam praises him, his chief minister son has nothing praiseworthy for him. In fact he has been levelling all kinds of charges against him including the one that he is a conspirator who “ can go to any extent to damage the party and the Yadav family”.

The man who has posted the dirty poster may have taken a cue from this kind of statement by the chief minister. In an apparent bid to hurt him the poster compares him with a dog and seeks to convey that like a dog’s tail which remains curled up he ( Amar) will not do anything in a straight way. A name has been inscribed on the poster but it may be a pseudo name.

Amar Singh has not yet reacted to the poster which puts the man behind the poster in a bad light, he has expressed his loyalty to Mulayam once again.
