New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not impressed with the pace of developments in Indian Railways. He expressed his displeasure at a recent infrastructure review meeting at NITI Ayog,

The Railways are in for administrative reforms and some changes in the Board structure and cadre unification. The restructuring of Board and unification of different Group A services cadre was on the cards.

The Prime Minister said station development is an important area and needs to be expedited. He said that a lot of revenue can be generated from station development.

With the focus on innovative methods of revenue generation, the Railway board has received instructions internally to work on an immediate action plan.

Modi is also in favour of using MNREGA funds by Railways for rural job employment.
