Saharanpur: To mark the completion of two years of his government at the Center, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a rally in Saharanpur city of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.

Basically, the ‘Vikas Parv Maharally’ is aimed at making people completely aware of the policies made and implemented by the Modi government during two years of its rule.

In the rally, PM Modi will be seen sharing stage with Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Sanjiv Balyan as well as Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar.

While the Uttar Pradesh (UP) Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) president Keshav Prasad Maurya and general secretary Sunil Bansal were already camping in the city to monitor the rally’s preparations, Party national vice-president Om Mathur had reached there on Wednesday last.

“A huge tent has been erected in a 70-acre land. It is going to be a grand rally with an expected gathering of more than two lakh people,” said BJP Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Saharanpur (Nagar) Rajeev Gumbar.

Highlights:

  • Apart from western-UP residents, party workers and supporters from districts of Haryana, Haridwar and Uttarakhand will also be attending the rally.
  • According to sources, Khattar has been invited at the rally because he is a Punjabi and there are around 1.25 lakh Punjabi voters in Saharanpur.
  • The land for the rally was provided by a farmer namely Raees Ahmed, removing his standing sugarcane crop.
