Prime Minister Modi launches Maritime India Summit 2016
Mumbai: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched Maritime India Summit 2016 at the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre in Goregaon locality of Mumbai.
The summit is to be held from April 14 to 16. The PM, in his address, said that his government wanted to restore India's position in this sector.
He added that the maritime sector not only facilitated economic activities but it also connected countries and civilisations.
Talking about the present scenario of the Indian economy, Modi said that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) along with the World Bank have indicated better days to come for India.
