PM Modi conspiring to discontinue dalit reservations: Mayawati

Lucknow: Bemused with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's sudden foray into Dalit politics, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Supremo Mayawati on Friday alleged that he was conspiring to discontinue reservation to Dalits.

“A conspiracy is being hatched on the backdrop of construction of a memorial in the name of Babasheb Bheem Rao Ambedkar as they want to stop reservations to the Dalits. It will largely affect the people of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and people should stay warned ,” Mayawati said.

What else she said:

• PM Should stop the leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) from making unnecessary statements.
• The every promise of Modi seems to be false like that of crediting Rs 15 lakhs in the account of every citizen.
• It is an attempt to cover up their failures.
• RSS and BJP never worked for the up liftment of Dalits.
