Lucknow: Samajwadi Party spokesperson Pankhuri Pathak on Saturday snapped ties with the party following a hate campaign being led by a specific section of people.

Pathak, through a Facebook post, wondered that the reason behind the hate campaign is her gender and caste. She claimed that there are many people who believe that a Brahmin female is a disgrace to the party.

She had been ignoring the hate campaign for several days which started right after Samajwadi Party's thumping defeat in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.

The FB post further read that dignity and self-respect is more important than any political ambition. What was more painful for Pankhuri Pathak was that none of the senior party leaders tried to stop the harassment she has been going through since months now.

She, however, has claimed that she will never ever join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or any of its allies.
