US shootings: One woman dead while 3 others injured in Austin

Washington: In yet another terror attack, one woman was killed while three others were injured after an armed man opened fire at a crowd in the state capital of Texas in United States (US).

“The scene was extremely chaotic as we reached the spot. Moreover, the officers were trying their best to establish the suspect’s identity. There is a possibility that the attacker could be among the injured persons,” said the police chief of downtown Austin.

“One woman died on the spot while the other three, who had sustained severe bullet injuries, were rushed to a local hospital,” added the chief.

Other highlights:

• The attack took place at 0200 hours (local time).
• “A lot of people were running in different directions as the gunshots were being indiscriminately shot,” said an eyewitness.
• According to the police, one person was also injured by a gunshot fired at a nearby parking lot.
