One killed in a group clash at Aligarh Muslim University
Aligarh: A clash between two groups of students in Aligarh Muslim University led to death of a student, leaving another injured, on Saturday night. During the clash the Proctor's office was set on fire.
According to sources, students from Sambhal, Azamgarh and Gazipur were involved in the clash.
The incident:
- The groups clashed on a minor issue following arguments over an incident that had taken place on Friday at the Maulana Azad Library.
- Despite attempts by the police the peace did not return till 2 am,
- Two students sustained bullet injury. According to eyewitnesses the firing was done by the police.
- The B-Tech entrance test will be held as per the schedule despite the incident, the Public Relation Officer, Rahat Abrar said.
