Noida: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Monday has asked for a report from the Uttar Pradesh government after four Nigerian students sustained severe injuries, who were attacked by a group of local residents in Greater Noida's Pari chowk area.

Local residents sit on a protest demanding that all Africans living in residential colonies here be asked to vacate their houses immediately.

It may be mentioned that tensions prevailed after a class 12 student Manish Khari, a resident of Greater Noida's NSG Black Cats Enclave, died of a suspected drug overdose. Five Nigerian students were detained and later released in connection with the case.

The 19-year-old Manish went missing on Friday evening. Locallites said that the boy was last seen with Nigerian students and raided their houses.

Meanwhile, police officials have been deployed to take the situation under control.
