Lucknow: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday urged the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to impose prohibition in his state.

While addressing a gathering under the banner of Kisan Manch in Uttar Pradesh state capital Kumar advised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister not to hesitate in banning the liquor in his state.

Akhilesh ji, Sharaab Bandi Ke Liye Sankoch Nahi kariye. Isse Pradesh Me Khushali Aayegi, Samriddhi Aayegi Aur Mataye Behne Bhi Khus Ho Jayengi,” Nitish said in his address.

Wrote letter:

“I had written a letter to Akhilesh ji regarding the prohibition in Uttar Pradesh and had also advised him to make a strict law for this,” Kumar said.

Accused UP government of revenue making:

Kumar, accused the Uttar Pradesh government for making revenue by opening more liquor shops in the border areas.

Faced protest:

The Bihar CM faced an impromptu protest by the liquor traders.

Slogans of "Nitish Go Back" with black flags in hand were raised before his address.

Liquor association is protesting against the ban and wants it to be revoked as soon as possible.
