Lucknow: In a fresh survey, the National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) on Friday revealed that there has been a spurt in crime in constituencies of the ruling Samajwadi Party ministers and riots in regions of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leaders.

According to NCRB, more than 93 lakh crime cases have been reported in the state in the last four years of the SP rule. Above 70 per cent of these cases were reported from the constituencies of the SP ministers. Talking about the state capital, the NCRB said there were almost 2.78 lakhs cases reported from Lucknow. It may be mentioned that SP has seven Members of Legislative Assembly (MLA) in the city and three of them are ministers.

Regions of BJP, BSP ministers top the riot chart:

If the NCRB report is to be believed, most of the incidents of riots have been reported from Gorakhpur, Agra and Azamgarh districts of UP. Moreover, nine SP MLA’s are serving in Azamgarh whereas in Agra and Gorakhpur, there are more number of BJP and BSP MLAs. The report also revealed that more than 22,300 riot incidents were recorded in the state during the previous BSP government while in SP rule, the number had already crossed 25,000.

The report says that on an average, as many as 7650 are everyday committed in UP and the state stands at the top when it comes to having the highest crime rate.
