Lucknow: The indiction of Subhash Chandra Dubey, the then Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Muzaffarnagar, as being responsible for Muzaffarnagar riots will be among the top agenda of the police fraternity in the discussion during IPS week commencing tomorrow.
The UP Indian Police Service (IPS) Association , had already expressed its displeasure over this, though in hush hush manner, but the closed door meeting during the week would give them the platform to discuss among themselves. They were agitated over the issue going to an extent demanding action against the them DGP D R Nagar and even Principal Secretary(Home) R M Srivastava.
It may be recalled that Justice Vishnu Sahaya committee in its 700-page report had held S C Dubey responsible for infamous riots in 2013 in which 62 persons killed.
The demand for Police Commissionerate in major cities, housing facilities and other service related issues are also likely to be discussed during the meeting. The officers from across the state are expected to participate in the IPS week celebrations, Prakash D , the secretary of UP IPS Association said.
