'Meerut would Burn soon!' says a letter sent to DM Chandrakala

Meerut: Days after the neutralisation of terror operation in Lucknow, the next target of terrorists is Meerut. At least the threatening letter to the district magistrate of the city B Chandrakala depict so.

The DM on Monday, received a threatening letter stating that they (terrorists) would blow up the collectorate office and the DM residence.

The letter is in the name of terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammad threatening Chandrakala that Meerut would burn soon. Challenging B chandrakala the letter reads, "The video of DM residence and commissioner quarter have been sent to Lashkar-e-Taiba founder Hafiz Saeed and soon the places would be reduced to ashes."

The letter, however, has also praised the security arrangements in the city but only with a warning to damage the state. "We have to stay in huts and hovel because of you and and the police department of your city. This has even made us more determined to carry out our mission."

What else the letter stated?

  • No one can save Meerut.
  • We have sent the video of all important places of your city to our outfit and will soon send another video of cantonment area too.
  • While we were doing videography, we found that few of the police men were talking on the cell phones.
  • We faced many problems because of the tight security of the district, now it is your (B Chandrakala) turn to pay for it.

It could be mentioned that the administration has taken the adequate steps to reduce the chances of any unwanted situation. Barricades have been placed all over the city and near all the entrance points of the city in the wake of the threat.

Newstrack team tried calling the DM and the Senior Superintendent of Police J. Ravinder Goud but the officials refused to say anything at the moment.
