Lucknow: Facing lambaste in entire state, for deaths of children in Gorakhpur tragedy, the Yogi government seems in no mood for any other mistake now.

The Uttar Pradesh government has released a circular for the police department of the sate regarding the Janmashtami celebrations. The circular has directions for celebrating the festival with decency.

It is to be mentioned that the Uttar Pradesh police is infamous for organising bar dances and obscene programmes at the police stations on the occasion of the festival. This UP government has, in its circular, strictly said that the proper code of conduct should be followed while celebrating the birth of lord Krishna.

“It is seen that during the celebration of Janmashtami , in last few years, many obscene dances and programmes of bar dancers have been organised for the UP police. The government this year will not allow it. Janmashtami is a sacred and auspicious Hindu festival and should be celebrated with the same dignity and Indian culture,” the circular stated further saying that the police fraternity should check the discipline and follow the proper code of conduct.

The circular, in a way, also targeted the former Akhilesh government as it highlighted that the since past few years there was no check on how the festival was being celebrated in the state. “The celebrations were not properly done rather the law and order was being ignored,” the notice has said stating that it should not be followed now during the reign of BJP government.
