Lucknow: Scholars and researchers from across the country are here to attend the week- long national research training program namely ‘National Training on Conducting Research in Biodiversity & Wildlife’ , a unique academic event in zoology department of Lucknow University.

The event, sponsored by Promotion of University Research and Scientific Excellence(PURSE), a Department of Science and Technology R&D incentive grant initiative for performing universities, was commenced on May 25 aimed at sensitizing the participants about census techniques, study of ecological restoration ,wetland ecosystem, popularization of butterfly parks, biodiversity parks etc.

Eminent research scholars from across the nation who wish to work in the same field have come here to learn the research tactics and strategies, according to Prof. Amita Kakaujia,the organizer of this program. “This program is not only to help study biodiversity and wildlife thoroughly, but also to preserve and increase the same.” She adds.

A field visit to Dudhwa national park, about 170 kms from Lucknow, and lectures by eminent scientists and researchers like Dr.Gururaja , Dr.Nishith Dharaiya, Dr.Anil Chhangan will be the part of training programme. On the final day,all scholars will be presenting a small research presentation of the topics learnt and will be provided a certificate.
