UP Polls: Lucknow observes voter awareness drive Pinkathon

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh capital city on Saturday observed a massive voter awareness drive for women - Pinkathon/Walkathon which was flagged off by the District Magistrate GS Priyadarshi.

Basic and Secondary school students, school musical bands and women in large numbers participated in the event which started from KD Singh Babu Stadium here.

DM, SDM, IAS and IPS officers and election officers were also present to boost voter awareness.

People from age group 18-40 participated in Walkathon programme which was enroute to Hazratganj, Saharaganj and concluded at KD Singh Babu Stadium.

School students and teachers also presented Zumba dance form to attract more people to the voter awareness drive.

Kajal Sharma bagged the first prize, Varsha Nagar was second and Nisha Kumari got the third prize in the Under 18 category.

It may be mentioned that first out of the seven phase voting ended on February 11 with the voter-turn out remaining at near about 64 per cent. The second phase voting will be held on Feb 15.
