Women's Day Shame: Woman gang raped on bus in UP

Bareilly: In another shocking incident on International Women's Day, a woman was gang raped inside a running bus near Sheeshgarh police station, about 50 kms from Bareilly district headquarters on intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. She lost her 14-days old son in the scuffle with the rapists.

Even more shockingly, her FIR was not lodged till noon on Tuesday as the woman kept sitting outside the police station with dead body of his son. No senior officer of Bareilly was available for comments.

Following intervention of local media, the police sent her for medical examination and body of infant for post-mortem. The accused driver and conductor of the bus were at large after the incident.

The victim is resident of Sisauna village under Khajuria police station in neighbouring district of Rampur.

Senior officials, including Inspector General of Police (IG) Bareilly zone, have reached the spot.
