Kanpur’s Green Park to host two matches of IPL first time

Kanpur: Finally, some good news for cricket lovers, the Green Park International stadium of Kanpur is all set to host two Indian Premier League (IPL) matches on May 19 and 21.

The ninth edition of IPL is starting from April 9 and it will the first time that Green Park will host IPL matches.

Work on Flood lights in full swing :

• Work to correct flood lights installed at Green Park is in full swing
• Officers are confident that it will be completed in time.
• Officers are keeping their fingers crossed

Matches to be played here:

• Suresh Raina's Gujarat Lions will take on Kolkata Night Riders on May 19.
• A match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Lions is scheduled for May 21.

Venue may be shifted in case work remains incompleted:

The Kanpur venue may be shifted to Rajkot if the problem of height of floods light poles is not solved on time, IPL Chairman Rajiv Shukla said.
