Kanpur police finds detonators in an unclaimed car

Kanpur: An unclaimed car was found with huge amount of detonators inside, in Chakeri area of Kanpur, on Thursday, along with some number plates belonging to Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar.

According to the Kanpur Police officials the Detonators belonged to Rajasthan and there are assumptions that they have been brought to carry out some unlawful activity the city.

The incident:

• The Kanpur police was informed about an unclaimed car parked at Jajmau Bridge near Chakeri area in the city.
• About 300 detonators were recovered by the police.
• The car had a number plate from Bihar and another number plate of Allahabad was found inside it.

What did officials say:

Senior Superintendent of Police, Shalabh Mathur refused to comment on the detonators. He, however, stated that the police is searching for the owner of the car.
