Kanpur: The rail traffic between Kanpur and Jhansi rail route can only be normalised by Monday evening even as the death toll in 19321 Indore-Patna Express accident has risen to over 130.

As many as 14 coaches of the ill-fated train were derailed which resulted into causalities in large number. ''Some more injured succumbed to injuries due to which the toll has mounted to at least 130,'' Vijay Kumar, the Chief PRO of North Central Railway (NCR) told newstrack.com .

He said that about 180 persons have been injured in the accident and admitted to various hospitals in Kanpur, about 100 kms from the accident site.

Meanwhile, the accident site near Pukhraya was being cleared for normal rail traffic. ''One coach is still to be removed from the tracks and the traffic can be normalised only after that,'' he said.

It may be recalled that out of 14 coaches, two coaches S1 and S2 were badly trapped in the debris and the maximum causalities were reported from S2 coach.
