Muzaffarnagar/Meerut: The Bhartiya Janata Party seems to be divided over the issue of Hindu migration from Kairana of Shamli in Uttar Pradesh. BJP MLA from Sardhana Sangeet Som had announced to carry out a ‘Nirbhaya Yatra’ to Kairana on Friday to instil confidence among the Hindus, who are shifting to safer places.

The BJP MP from Kairana Hukum Singh, who has raised the issue of Hindu migration, chipped in expressing reservation over Som’s yatra. In a statement, he said that the Nirbhaya Yatra was uncalled for and it would unnecessarily vitiate peaceful environment in western UP.

Hukum Singh advised Som to call off his Yatra in larger interest of the communal harmony while, the supporters of Sangeet Som are adamant on taking out the yatra. They say despite fearing undue action from the ruling Samajwadi Party government, they will stick to their plan.
