Cong MP Jyotiraditya Scindia’s car kills elderly man in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram: A senior citizen was on Wednesday killed after being allegedly hit by a car in which Congress Member of Parliament (MP) Jyotiraditya Scindia was traveling. The incident took place at Puthiyakavu on national highway’s Kochi-Allapuzha stretch in Kerala.
A chauffeur was taking Scindia to attend a function in Cherthala town in the car when it banged the 65-year-old deceased’s bike. It may be mentioned that the parliamentarian reached Kochi from the national capital on the same day.
The deceased was identified as Sasi, a resident of the Puthiyakavu locality in Kerala's Kilimanoor city.
“While being rushed to a nearby hospital, Sasi succumbed to his injuries,” said a senior police official.
Scindia took to micro blogging website Twitter to express his grief over the mishap. He tweets:
Devastated - sad loss of life - unfortunate accident betw Cochin-Allepy. Arranged for hospital immediately - on way to meet bereaved family!

After the accident took place, the car was handed over to the police and Scindia left in another car.
