Irate mob sets truck with 58 dead cows on fire in Mathura

Mathura: Residents of Chaumuhan area in Mathura set a truck on fire and blocked the Delhi-Agra highway after they found carcasses of 58 cows in the vehicle late on Wednesday.

Mob turned violent after seeing 58 dead cows inside the truck that was parked along the roadside.

What is the matter?

• Residents assembled near the truck after noticing unpleasant smell from it
• People removed the plastic cover from the vehicle
• They saw 58 dead cows inside the truck
• Truck driver and cleaner fled from the spot

Police intervened to control the situation

• Heavy police force reached the spot to control the violent mob
• Fire brigade vehicle was called to douse the flames
• National Highway 2 was blocked for several hours
• Police assured the protestors that National Security Act will be slapped on the culprits
