Lucknow: In barely few days of Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh, a 2010-batch Indian Police Officer (IPS) Himanshu Kumar created a flutter in officialdom alleging in a tweet that the state Director General of Police (DGP) office is pressuring for action against the members of one particular caste.

Without any substantiation, he tweeted and tagged the CM office as well which said ''why is DGP office forcing officers to punish people in the name of caste ? Though, in subsequent tweet, he sought to clarify his earlier tweet saying he supports the government's initiative.

Currently attached to DGP office after having served Firozabad and other districts as district police chief, he also stated that he remained an honest officer and did not buckle under pressure.

In fact, Himanshu Kumar had registered a complaint against his wife under IT act in Noida but even after the probe was transferred to Ghaziabad district, no action followed. Disgruntled with the lack of action, he targeted his department for different reasons.
