I was instrumental in making Akhilesh an MP: Sadhna

Lucknow: In a revealing interview, Sadhna Yadav nee Gupta , the second wife of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulaym Singh Yadav has claimed her pro-active role in elevation of Akhilesh Yadav and his cousin Dharmendra Yadav to the Lok Sabha.

Attributing their political career to herself, in a way, she claimed she did it all in a hidden manner.Without mincing her words, Sadhna said ‘’yes.. I want to see my son Prateek in the active politics.’’

Sadhna , who always maintained hot and cold relations with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, said she had a lot of affection towards Akhilesh and vice versa. ‘’ Netaji (Mulayam) also solicited my opinion on the political and family matters and I always tried to keep family flock together,’’ she said in an interview to a news agency here on Tuesday.

She asserted that everyone in Yadav clan including families of akhilesh, Ram Gopal and Shivpal Yadav had been close to her and she had given her opinion in the best inetrest of the family. ‘’Though my upbringing does not allow me to boast about my good deeds but the time has come to claim what I did in the larger interest of the family and the politics,’’ she pointed out.

Earlier, during the polling day in the state capital on February 19, the teary-eyed Sadhna had gone on records to say that she loved Akhilesh and his family immensely despite lot of adverse things were being propagated in the media
