Kanpur: Bharat Ratna Professor C.N.R. Rao feels that India’s membership in NSG is not going to help much. Prof. Rao, who had come to take part in the convocation of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, said there was a need to improve the quality of education as well as science and technology in India.

He received an honorary Doctor of Science at the convocation.

Prof. Rao said-

Government should give more budgets for research and innovation.

India is already strong in the field of atomic and nuclear energy.

He advised IIT Kanpur to make changes to the tune of American Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

In addition to studying at the campuses, start-up companies also run in US.
