Bareilly: Issuing a fatwa, the Barelvi sect of Muslims has asked Muslims to celebrate Independence Day of India by unfurling the tricolour but in accordance to the provisions of the Shariyat.

Mufti of Dargah Aala Hazrat Mohammad Salim Noori, in a communiqué, appealed to all Muslims to pay homage to all those Ulemas and religious leaders who had participated in the freedom struggle.

Muslims may hoist Indian flag-

  • Mufti said that as per Shariyat provisions, Muslims can hoist tricolor.
  • “Those Ulemas and Muslim leaders, who actively participated in the freedom struggle, should also be remembered and respected on the Independence Day,” said Mufti.

Muslims should participate in the Independence Day celebrations-

  • Our ancestors have shed their blood for the nation.
  • By doing celebrations, we will shut the mouths of those who keep on questioning regarding our loyalty towards nation.
