Varanasi: Magsaysay Awardee Sandeep Pandey has alleged that the IIT- BHU administration had refused to allow him to join as a visiting professor despite order of the Allahabad High Court order dated 23 April, 2016.

The Indian Institute of Technology, BHU had terminated the annual contract with him which he subsequently challenged in the High Court.

Dr Pandey said that Director Professor Rajeev Sangal informed me him that the Vice Chancellor Professor Girish Chandra Tripathi, who also happens to be the Chariman, IIT-BHU Board of Governors, had not yet returned the file in which his advice was sought in the matter of the rejoining.

Sandeep Pandey alleged:

  • The VC has decided to delay the compliance of High Court order.
  • As my annual contract with IIT-BHU ends on 31 July, 2016, if he uses up the time of 3 months he has to file a Special Leave Petition against the court order,
  • The VC's intention is to block my return to the campus.
