Lucknow: The faceoff between IAS and IPS officers of Uttar Pradesh took a bitter turn on Friday when Shamli ADM, a PCS officer, summoned all the Station House Officers (SHOs) of his district for a meeting at the collectorate.

When things were looking to be sorted out, the letter of ADM Finance Shamli has reignited the entire matter with his letter.

In the letter, he has summoned Shamli SP and all the SHOs of the district for a meeting on December 20, 2017 at 4.30 pm where law and order and prosecution works will be discussed.

Earlier on Thursday, observing the intensifying differences between the IAS and IPS Associations, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself intervened into the matter. Referring to spat, he said it was true that all the cadres had not been very happy with the IAS cadre.

Yogi, during the IAS Week program, said, "You will have to look into it why does it happen?"

The brawl had erupted after Chief Secretary Rajive Kumar had passed an order on December 11 that the monthly law and order meetings across the state will be chaired by District Magistrates. The decision had largely offended the IPS Association which had immediately called for a meeting. The meeting, however, was cancelled later.

Check the revised version of the letter here:

"In the wake of setting accountability, now the monthly law and order and crime meetings will be chaired by DMs of the respective districts," said the Chief Secretary, adding, "The SSP/SP will have to be present in the monthly meeting."

"The posting of Kotwals and Station House Officers (SHOs) will also be done with the DM’s consent," he further said.
