Huge horde of people attend Hizbul chief Burhan Wani’s burial

Srinagar: About 20,000 people marked their presence on the burial of Hizbul Mujahideen’s poster boy Burhan Wani after he was killed along with his two accomplices during a gun fight with the security forces at Kokernag village in Anantnag district on Friday.

People came from different parts of Pulwama district at Shariefabad (Tral) to attend Burhan’s burial. Pro-Azadi and pro-Islam slogans have been chanted by the youths during the entire process.

  • Internet services and Amarnath Yatra have been suspended to avoid any mishap.
  • Curfew has also been imposed in several parts of the Srinagar.

Militants along with Burhan Wani were hiding inside a house located in the area. They launched gunfire at security forces in which three militants including Wani were killed.
