Hello! Mujhse dosti karogi: even dial 100 is not spared in UP

Muzzafarnagar: It is not just call centres where perverts call and try to indulge in obscene talks with the females, even women constables are subjected to this at dial 100 helpline of the police.

In many such case, pranksters call the police control room several times a day and end up abusing the female person on the next shore in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh.

Almost 90 per cent calls are fake:

Composite room’s in-charge Gajendra Singh says, more than 90 per cent calls received in a day are fake and abusive. If we receive 300 call in a day then on an average 250 calls made to us are found to be fake.

These calls are affecting our work and now we will take appropriate actions against such callers.

The police have made a register to note down the details of such phone calls.

Few cases under sections 353 and 345-D of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) have been registered but no arrests have been made so far, Gajendra adds.

What SP says?

Superintendent of Police (SP) Santosh Kumar Mishra says he has taken the cognizance of this matter and several numbers have been traced. Stern action will be taken against the accused.

Police will not tolerate such kind on calls on dial 100 helpline which is made for the convenience of people, he adds.
