Mining Scandal: After Prajapati, UP Govt sacks PS (Mining)

Lucknow: Hours after Uttar Pradesh government sacked the Mining Minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, the action has also been taken against the Principal Secretary (Mining) Gurdeep Singh, who has been removed as the in-charge of Mining Department.

The action was taken after the Allahabad High Court ordered a CBI probe into the mining scandal in the state, despite state government's plea against it.

More heads may roll in the mining case once the Central Bureau of Investigation completes its probe.

Cabinet Minister Raj Kishore Singh also sacked:

  • Akhilesh Yadav government on Monday also sacked Raj Kishore Singh who was heading the horticulture department.
  • Ram Govind Chaudhary will look after this department now in addition to his own of food.

Meanwhile, the portfolio held by Prajapati has been offered to Mulchand Chauhan.
