Ahemdabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel has offered to resign from the top post on Monday and has sent her resignation to BJP top brass.

Patel has sent her resignation to the senior party leaders and the final call in this regard will be taken by them. Meanwhile, she met the state Governor in the evening and has tendered her resignation on the orders of party high command.

Though she has not cited any specific reason behind her resignation but her facebook post suggests that she decided to quit on attaining 75 years of age.

“As per the tradition of the party anyone who attain the age of 75, should voluntarily retire from the post and she will turn 75 in November,” she mentioned in her facebook post. Adding, “Two months ago I had requested the party to relieve me from the post and today also through this letter, I request the party to relieve me of the post.”
